The Battery itself was originally a shell beach later fortified with palmetto logs. Following the hurricane of 1804, ballast rocks from passing ships were dumped to build up the wall. In 1812 guns were mounted and the name soon followed: "The Battery". Available in various size Giclee's. Call for pricing.
